750 words - day 5
This is the 5th day in a row of writing on 750words.com and I feel like I'm getting into a groove where my writing is becoming more fluid, and I also hope, it's more interesting to the couple of readers that I have on my blog, where I am sharing these jottings. Earlier today some thoughts occurred to me that I want to explore here now. I was taking into consideration the type of women that I have become close to in my life. I wasn't looking at this from the perspective of what type of women I am attracted to, but seeing in retrospect which types were actually successful in winning my trust. They seem to be of a classification that in appearances to me are of a regal type nature. I'll use the most obvious woman that I've had a relationship with as an example first. I was in a relationship with a woman of rather high British societal standing. She was the daughter of an acclaimed British academician (a leader in the field of Anthropology) and who was a professor emeritus at Oxford who was drinking buddies with the likes of C.S. Lewis and J.R. Tolkien. I didn't know she had this background when we met, so it was not a part of the logical processing of my own mind to look for a woman of her stature to get into a relationship with. It just happened, and as it turned out, she is the one woman in my life that I had a fully intimate and sexual relationship with. The next woman of higher stature that I'm thinking of was not someone that I had a sexual relationship with, but someone who took me on as a spiritual student. I am not aware of her social status other than that she was a high up member of the spiritual organization (Siddha Yoga) that I was a new member of when I met her. She was a close associate of the guru that ran the organization, and we were close friends for close to 5 years. Perhaps these are the only two significant examples I have to share, but remember that I have not had all that many close friendships/relationships with women in this lifetime. In my current life, there is a woman-friend that fits this pattern who comes from a rich family heritage in Colombia. She's kind of like the daughter of national royal family and is the wealthiest woman I've ever known. We are friends only and she obviously chooses to keep me in her life as an associate of some type, despite my not coming from wealthy upbringings. Okay, just one other comment on this topic and that is that one of the young women that I used to be friends with when I was doing my model photography project once said to me that she felt something about me, that I came from some type of regal lineage. She was a spiritually aware person so I think she might have intuited this from my genealogical ancestry. I have found in my own family tree research that I am descended from over a dozen ancient Scottish kings. Maybe there is something from these ancient connections that reverberates in my own soul and psyche that creates a sense of resonance with the few women-folk that I allow myself to become close to, and it also makes me wonder if the other women that were not of obvious higher standing, that we have some inner alignment and familiarity on a soul basis of also coming from regal lineages, but we just don't know about it or see it here and now.
When I think further about all the women who I have befriended in this lifetime, I can't find this same trait of feeling or believing that any or all of them have a pronounced societal stature like these few women that I've highlighted have shown. But maybe there is a deep, underlying connection of some sort that works to draw us together. I have talked so many times about the women I've been connected to in this lifetime in the pages of this blog. Yet I can't seem to find one that is a good enough match with me, for me, to be able to have a complete "happy man and happy woman" experience with. The young woman that I now consider to be my best friend, our connection has been hard fought for to keep alive as long as we've been friends together now. I still let her know every once in awhile that I'd happily marry her, despite the fact that I do not have any sort of wealth to offer her as a means of support in a lifetime together. Now I'm just saying things here to fill out this word quota, which I just hit. I'll blog this but not going to send it out. See what happens when I write the next day's quota I guess.

Yes, it is interesting to reflect back on the women in our lives. My perspective isn't on their standing. I look back and see how my addictions led me to each one.
Having a woman in your life can be a good thing. On the other hand, relationships require work and are not easy to maintain.
This was a very thoughtful, introspective post. Thanks!
