The amount of unopened emails in my Gmail inbox reached a massive total of 14,444 today. I was almost moved to tears when I was sitting in Starbucks this evening waiting to meet a friend. There was a couple siting next to me talking about the terms of their separation/divorce. They were an attractive, young couple, probably not even thirty years old. It was a combination of how frankly they spoke out loud about this very personal matter of their lives and how unemotional yet willing they both were to give the other person whatever it was they wanted to make moving on with their lives easy that struck me the most strongly. He asked her how much she wanted for alimony. She said nothing. He offered to give her $5,000 to help her get caught up on her bills. She declined. He said, "You don't need to worry, I'm not going to go all stalker on you." It went on and on for over a half an hour while I sat there trying to play my music loudly enough so I wouldn't have to hear...
