walking haggis, waiting to implode...

a dear, long time friend sent me this note tonight. he is a regular reader of my blog. i will comment on this below. Daryl, You need to exercise regularly.  I know it is depressing to not be engaged in the human continuum. The endorphin rush you get from exercise, will make you look flush, and sexy You won’t look like a walking  haggis. Chicks WILL dig you for you, if you care enough about your body to make be healthy  You will look sexy to them, if they know you will care for them the same as you care for yourself. Sympathy Sex (Love) is for the pathetic. I strongly recommend the Rowing Machine, and pull ups, and free hand weights. You already have all the charm you need in your Professional Photography. Now you need a body to put it in. Suicide is too easy, and you already know you are going to re-embody right back into the test you failed. You have the best opportunity RIGHT NOW at THIS time to defeat this hole in your lifetime...

a strange change...

a few days ago one of my parakeets (Draven) started to show signs of ill health and i became worried that she would quickly fall over dead, just like Merricat did several months ago. i was upset by the idea of her suffering and followed an instinct that i developed awhile ago. i've thought many times of opening the window of their room and just letting them fly away. when i used to let the birds fly freely in their room they were so happy. but the mess got unmanageable and now we have a second cat in the house - a creature i don't really like, or trust. so after watching Draven's condition worsen over about 3 days i took action. i caught her and opened the bathroom window and let her fly off. it was around 5pm and the sky was a lovely color and the air was warm. with the thick foliage outside though, i almost immediately lost sight of her. i went outside to see if i could see where she had gone. not that i had changed my mind and was going to catch her and bring her back in...

check mate, Ingmar!

I was first introduced to the films of Ingmar Bergman when I took a film class at Diablo Valley College, way back in 1977. I was given access to the same visions of a bleak world lived in by characters in touch with true emotions, the same as hundreds of thousands of other film students were around the world, and well, Bergman's vision touched me on very deep levels. I may add more to my thoughts in this posting later. I just wanted to send out a signal that I too am saddened at this great auteurs passing. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ingmar_Bergman

out, god how it helps...

i decided this morning to not attend the Polyphonic Spree concert tonight at the Great American Music Hall. just not feeling physically able for the intensity of standing from 6pm till midnight. i have not been eating much lately and my potassium is low again; thus lots of muscle cramping. i feel little regret for not seeing this show despite the fact that i really looked forward to it being a great photo op and also a bit of a rejuvenating and spiritual expereince. the Spree are the most magical band out there right now methinks. i was able to sell the ticket (at a discount to the buyer) via craigslist this morning so i will think magically about this and believe that there is more benefit in him seeing this show and that in my staying home, i will experience some sort of magic. i'm reading this pretty fascinating book right now called " 2012: The Return of Quetzalcoatl" which is starting to click for me some deeper understanding about things in this world and my own li...
