regroup, rewrite, rewire...

Ok, it is March 6th, 2008 and I am ready to sit down and get serious about the writing of my novel once again. I feel a new inspiration to delve deeply into the work but in looking over my hand written notes and my attempts at typed chapters I feel a sense of confusion. There are so many ideas of who I want to be in the story and what I want to have happen between them. I feel good about one thing; I know the progression of the story up until how it ends. The way it feels now there are several ways that it could end and I don't think I'll decide until I get to the point in my writing where I am nearer to the end and have to make final decisions. And I am fine with that.

Tonight I am going to print off what I am calling my beginning chapters and pore over them to see what works and what doesn't work and maybe I'll rewrite those "chapters" so that they are cohesive and flow, unifying their voice and connectivity. In fact, that is a very good idea. Because now with the maturity of knowledge and insight I have about the entire story I can smooth out the jaggedness that the chapters now have. OKAY! This is a really good plan and I'm excited about it.

What I need to do next though is find a way to connect into the mind, heart and spirit of my communicator; my narrator of the story. Because I know for a fact that my writing will fall flat if I only write it from my own mind. For this writing to be rich and captivating it needs to be an emanation of my heart. I mean, it can be good, very good written with just the power of my mind, but I want this to be something deeper and more affective for change in those that will read it.

I need to enter into a meditation with the spirit of my story teller, my muse, my character, her spirit, her being.. I have my talismans, I just need to activate them more powerfully to take me into a deeper space so that I become consumed with this task. I turned away two models this week. I really can't shoot any more. They are a distraction. I think that if I completely stop shooting models I could still shoot bands. Bands are not a distraction. If I don't do them too often they will be good refreshment. The models though , especially the ones through ModelMayhem are too demanding. As beautiful as they are they suck up too much of my mind and energy.
