morning dream; take one
well, i took the seroquel-brain damage again last night. i decided that the increased amount of mental focus it is giving me is worth the potential brain damage. for right now at least.
my dreams usually seem to take on an epic time frame when i write them out. i am a bit of a freak about including innocuous details. bear with me.
Road Trip
ah, this dream started out with me arriving somewhere where i was to pick up two younger male characters who i was to go on a road trip with. they seemed to be in their teens, when i first met them. i had driven down a long narrow road along flats near the ocean, or so it seems now in recollection. not a straight road. i remember there being a a sandy parking area with those greasy telephone poles laying on the ground creating a border of where you are not supposed to drive beyond. there was a small shack that the boys must have lived in off to the side.
i saw one of the boys standing outside the shack and walked up and followed him inside. there were no words spoken audibly but we knew what was going on by reading each others thoughts; telepathic communication. they were nervous and the forced silence increased the tension. i was confident though that we were doing the right thing and that once i got to meet their father he would be alright with what we were going to do.
well the father arrived home shortly thereafter, it somehow seemed to be around 5pm. we shook hands and he let the boys go. it seemed like we were going to be making a monumental journey of some sort, but i don't recall knowing exactly what we were going to do or where we were going to go. we got into my vehicle and drove off.
the next thing i remember is getting to a college where my own son attended. he was standing outside this building that was perched on a sandy cliff overlooking a vast expanse; whether it was a desert or the ocean, i don't recall. it was not an ornate building one built esthetically with sweeping curves and large windows. he greeted me warmly and took me inside, telling me that it was "dinner time". the foyer was small and as i would soon find out, all the rooms inside were small, including the narrow winding stairways that led down into the interior sections. there was steam with the smells of cooking coming up into our faces as we descended.
we got to a serving station and heaps of hot, unadorned noodles were handed to us in bowls. he looked at me smiling, implying that this is "so great". there were a lot of people around, seeing that this must have been a dorm.
he took me to a place that i thought we would sit down to eat at, but it appeared to be the dorm room of a girl. we didn't go in but just looked at it in passing. we seemed to continue on, eating while we walked. oh yeah, the "boys" i gave the ride to disappeared from the dream when we arrived at the college.
now the next area of description is about this outer building that he took me to. i'll close with this piece. this was an outbuilding of a sort but it was still attached to the main structure. it was atop the outer shell of the building. it was painted an off-golden sort of color and had large windows that could swing open during warm season. it was the warm season now i assumed as i saw curtains blowing from a breeze. this whole section of the dream had a summer-ish feeling to it, whereas the opening scene where i picked up the boys had a damp, winter-ish feeling to it with murky dark blue colors.
there was a doorway but no door to close, the place seemed open to all and anyone who would come to it. inside i started to get the feeling that one of those types of women that just simply loves men lived there. that no matter who came to visit her, men on their own or in groups of varying sizes she knew how to entertain them. whether they needed to party or whether they simply needed someone to sit quietly with; she understood each man individually. curiously, she was no where to be found. Billy left me in the upper tier of the house as he descended inside looking for her. i felt an unusual sense of calm flow over me and sat down on a sofa, watching the wind blow the curtains and feeling the warm air that seemed to carry a melody in off the sea. he came back shortly thereafter saying that she wasn't there and that we should leave. i objected, saying that this was a great place and that we should just sit here and recuperate. that there was no hurry to be anywhere else.
and the dream faded away...
