oh holy heck, how can this be...
I have not written here in 131 days?? That's just NOT right. I apologize to you, to myself, to God, and all the demons that have been yearning to express themselves thru my thoughts, words, and ideas for this hiatus that can only be blamed on laziness and lack of focused inspiration. Let's see if I can get to the root of this NOW.
A lot of things have been changing in my life, and the world at large in the past 131 days. As you may know, if you are a regular reader of this blog, I write when I feel like it. Sometimes there are days where pertinent ideas or information need to be expressed. Other times I have larger ambitions and want to develop a project, either one that's already been under development (i.e. Nanowrimo novel) or some newly thought up reason to write publicly. Today I'm considering an overhaul to many aspects of my life/work activities.
So something happened in the past two weeks, in the world at large, that temporarily injected panic into my mind about what I need to do with my time and energy to earn money to live on. Specifically, the price of gas shot to previously unknown highs, and I panicked thinking that I would not be able to continue working as a DoorDasher. I began to consider other possible options for myself to earn money. The most obvious options were to apply for a job in a grocery store. And I stumbled into what sounded like a perfect job opportunity of working in a used book store. I have not applied to any grocery stores, but I did take an application into the book store (over a week ago). Thankfully, I have not heard back from them, yet. If they were to call me today and invite me to have an interview, I'm pretty sure that I would decline the offer.
The reason is that I have come to terms that I can, and do make enough money as a DoorDasher. My panic was fed by panic that the collective whole of DoorDashers was feeling that it would no longer be profitable to do this business. I work few enough hours each month, that I do not use all that much gasoline. This is my current logic, and we'll see how it plays out in the upcoming weeks/months. The reason I do not want to work in ANY job that has a schedule of exacting hours is a long story, but essentially, it makes my soul sick, and then my body gets sick. It's a mess of a situation and my spirit guides influence and lead me to make the wisest choices... when I listen closely to them, that is!
The only schedule demands I deal with now are those of when dogs desire to be fed and walked when I do pet sitting jobs. These demands I can handle. As far as scheduling goes with DoorDashing, I am pretty much my own boss. I work when I want to, and if I want to quit a shift early, there is no penalty. I'm spoiled, I admit it, but I'm not a young kid anymore trying to create a lifelong career.
Jump ahead to today. I am adding a new element of work to my routines. I am going to begin writing again. I mean it. Friends and angels have been nudging me towards this realization, that I am happier when I write, and sometimes friends are delighted by things that I write. I don't know what I'm going to write, yet. I'm not going to blurt out promises right now that may end up being unachievable. I'm just going to take it day by day and redevelop a routine of getting myself to a cafe, sitting and writing, and seeing where my muses lead me.
Here are some ideas that I'll explore. Researching ways to make money from writing. There is so much talk on the internet about people being freelance writers that get paid for the things they write. I've always been curious about this, but any attempts I've made at doing it in the past never panned out. I need to learn what the secrets are to becoming successful at this. I also read recently that people can get paid for writing short stories and selling them online. That would be a fun and soul-enriching avenue of writing to bet into. I've never spent much time writing short stories in the past, but I'm rather curious about the possibilities. It might be a good preemptive activity to get my creative juices flowing before I consider going back to work on my novel. I think the important thing right now is not to attempt to jump right back into the process of reexamining my novel. In former attempts to do that I became overwhelmed and then give up on wanting to write anything at all.
So for now, my goal for this week is to get to a cafe on Tuesday and Wednesday and do what I'm doing right now. Just sit and blog freeform whatever thought process rises to the surface. Thursday and Friday this week I will hopefully be spending time with my son and his family while they are in town. What I could do in place of going to a cafe to write is just open this silly writing machine, and make some efforts to write at home. That's a whole other area of soul-exploration that I've whined about over the years... the difficulty I have writing at home... but we'll see, I'll do my best.
I just recently overcame a different do-it-at-home issue that had been hard to overcome, and that's doing tarot readings at home. Suddenly I can do them, and it feels good. Speaking of which, if anyone that reads this is interested in having a tarot reading, about any topic, let me know and I'll do one for you asap.
This is a possible other new direction I may start to explore as a means of earning some extra money. Doing tarot readings for the public, online. I need to do some more soul-exploration to find a way to present myself online to do this. The first immediate idea that I have is to use the website FIVERR, but there are already a ton of people on there trying to make money this way, I have to find a way to make myself stand out as a unique purveyor of this service to attract new patrons. If that avenue of exploration were to become a success, perhaps I could also move forward to offer Reiki healings to the public online. If anyone has any inspirational ideas about these thoughts, please let me know.
Okay, I think I'll leave it at this for now. I'm not in a hurry to leave this cafe, it feels so AMAZING to be sitting here, relaxed and DOING THIS... maybe I'll start another blog entry before I'll go...

Which means your creative juices are flowing clearly!
Write on, my friend!
Notice the comma after on. Without it, anyone in the cafe who happened to pass by your table and read over your shoulder might obey me, grab a black marker, and write on my friend!
I always enjoy your blog posts!
