free thought ramble...

Sitting in the Walnut Creek Library (downtown) with Scarlett. We've spent a lot of time hanging out together here over the past 14 years. The last time we were here together though was over a year ago. We are just busy with our lives and it's not as easy to find times when our energies and schedules sync up. (I mention energies because sometimes there are days/times when we COULD meet, but the balance of our emotional energies might clash for weird astrological reasons, and either or neither of us feel capable of leaving our homes, haha sigh). So today is a miracle meeting day where all pieces of our puzzles fell into place. We're just sitting here with our laptops, writing. Scarlett is working on astrological forecasts for the upcoming week, that she'll be using on her youtube channel, and I'm just doing THIS, updating my blog with flowing-river-words that fall out of my mind...

So what else is going on that's worth using up some bits and bytes to talk about... I'm crossing my prayer-fingers that when I go back to work for the month of August that I will rise into a highly inspired state of artistic creativity. I'm already lit up with enthusiasm for my channeling project, so there's no worry for that. But I want to get more enthused about writing more than just my daily blogging. Maybe I'll start to brainstorm ideas that'll motivate me to explore actual creative writing projects. There are so many back-burner ideas that just never raise to a full boil. With daily discipline of either blogging, or journaling I can set a goal of just talking my heart out about all the things I could be writing, should be writing and get a snowball effect of motivation that will tip the scale to launch me into hyper-enthusiasm. There! I just set an intention and I like it, it feels good, and it feels doable. What is different about working like this when I am NOT HOME, is that I'm blessed with the spaces I get to live/work in during my pet sitting assignments. Normal people keep their homes neat and orderly and that organization gives me space to set up a dedicated creative workspace... something I do not have at home. (I'm not going to get into that, so don't ask.) Also, I'll be closer to where Scarlett lives during these jobs so there may be more opportunities for the two of us to get together in other nearby libraries, or even our favorite cemeteries. SHE is STILL my MUSE, she can just say something, like, MEDITATE TODAY, and I'LL DO IT!! But it's not just her spoken words that inspire or activate me, it's her energy, it seeps into me and charges me up like a battery...

Well, that might be it for now... no special music to mention at the moment.. OH, I did have an experience re: music yesterday. Yesterday was the 20th anniversary of when I began logging the music I listen to on LAST.FM. it's one of the most amazing websites on the internet, and that it still operates is pretty amazing. I think the site launched in 2004. I joined on July 20th, 2006. All of the music that I have listened to/streamed is logged in this sites databases. There are incredible detailed reports that can be generated delineating your listening trends over the years. I used to spend more time playing around with the reports than I have lately, but I'm starting to pick up exploring again. One thing that is cool is that you can follow other music listeners that use the site. You can find other people that have compatible listening tastes to your own, scour their listening reports and find new music that you may never have known about before. So yesterday I made a post on Reddit announcing that it was my 20th Anniversary, and asked people to check and see "how compatible" our listening tastes are. I got over 20 responses and most of the people had pretty similar tastes. I decided to follow nearly all of them, except for a couple of people that only had "Fleetwood Mac" and "The Beatles" in common with me. I probably have the least amounts of listens to any songs by those two bands in my entire archive.
