mental health update...
i met my new psychiatrist today. she was a very pleasant and caring youngish woman, from Russia i'm told. she had no qualms about my desire to not use medications, so that is a relief. at the worse i was expecting her to say that if i took no medications she would not treat me at all - like that last p-doc i was a mental/physical/emotional slave to insisted. so overall i feel good about this development. this also means that i will still be able to retain the services of my GP, although i'm wondering if he still has a hidden agenda with me that he is yet to unveil.
on other fronts, we (Gigi and i) are getting closer to our departure dates for Ohio and the Chicago area. we leave the last week of August and will return around 3 weeks later. i think while we are on that trip i will write a travel journal here in the blog; so that may be of more interest to read than my blog has been for awhile. i only know of one person in the Chicago area (a Flickrite) and i am going to see if he will want to meet up and go out for a photo-stroll. whether he will or not i will be taking tons of photos back there.
an interesting event of note occurred on Friday last. while i was waiting for my therapy appointment i noticed (nonchalantly) that my third eye opened.
this is an experience that i have not felt in quite a long time. during the years that i practiced meditation at the Siddha Yoga Dham in Oakland my third eye was open almost all of the time. if a person has not experienced this mental/psychic phenomenon the sensation is a little hard to describe to. physically, there is a gland in the brain at the location of this "third eye", between and slightly above the space where our regular two eyes are on the head. when the third eye opens i feel a strong sense of pressure in this space and it is like a doorway or window opening where i am able to, in a sense, look outwards, or well, inwards too... from my experiences looking out is a way to either see the future or through concentration and visualization, create the future. looking inwards, the method instructed by the Siddha masters is the means to discover God within your self. anyway, i have not experienced this opening of my third eye in years; certainly not at all during the time that i have been under such heavy influence of these psych meds. and now that the final drug (ambien) is out of my system it only seems natural for this ability to return to me.
we will see what/where/how it leads me forward. overall my energy has been low this week. not quite sure why. and i start a 12 day pet sitting job beginning early Thursday morning. that will be on the outskirts of Walnut Creek. seems like a nice neighborhood. hopefully my legs won't bother me too much and i'll be able to get out and walk the dog everyday. they have wifi in the house so i will be able to get online with my new laptop (which should arrive within the next couple of days). i'm looking forward to being able to clear my head and overall energy while there so that i can get some work done (photo editing, yes, i still have not finished the wedding photos yet), especially i would like to get grounded and focused on my writing. yes, the novel/screenplay whatever the hell it will be... some person in Russia(?) wrote a novel on his cell phone using text messaging during his commute time to work everyday?!?! so i can write mine too, right?!
