first time using a floatation tank
I've known about floatation tanks for a couple decades but never ever thought I'd get an opportunity to use one. I always thought I'd have to go through a college/university research program to get access to one. Little did I know that when I signed up for a month of yoga classes at Yoga Fusion in San Ramon that I would find out that the owner had a flotation tank that he rents out hourly at his cottage in Danville. As soon as I heard about it, I signed up for two, one hour sessions. Today, two months later I finally had my first experience.
I had a little bit of trepidation about the experience, but overall I knew I was going to be okay and not freak out. Getting into the tank and closing the door by myself was the most difficult aspect of it. You go into a space of total darkness. If I were to have a claustrophobic freak-out it would have happened right then. It didn't. I was surprised at the experience of floating so easily. I had never been in a body of water like this before. Literally, only inches of the depth of your body's circumference sinks into the water. Like, half of your body submerges into the water. All the rest of your body is above the water.
I am used to having spiritual experiences in darkness from all the years of meditation I have practiced. So I was not concerned at all about what I would see or feel, or hear. The only thing I could hear the entire time I was floating was my breath. I did not feel air circulating in the tub so I was concerned that maybe I would run out of fresh air. I was hesitant to breathe deeply, continuously. Next time I use the tank I will ask if there is a way to increase air flow in there - because I also felt too warm. I broke out into a light sweat and had to keep having flash visualizations of floating in a cold ocean... that seemed to help.
Okay, onto what went on in my head during the experience. My intent from the onset was to meditate. I had a problem in the beginning "grounding" because I was out of contact with the physical earth. Once I figured out how to visualize connecting to and grounding through the water I was on my way. I ran earth energy and cosmic energy for a few moments and then went on to check in on and balance my chakras. This took a little bit of time, a bit longer than it takes me in sitting meditation, but I carried on and was soon running a cord of golden energy from my 8th chakra all the way through to the earth. I felt really good.
Now I got to the point where my real work began. I wanted to do past life regressions. I have not told you yet about what happened in my meditation two nights ago, but I found that my recently deceased half-aunt, Aunt Lari is one of my spirit guides and that she is working in the afterlife as a librarian at the Akashic Records! My dream goal of becoming able to access the Akashic Records has finally come true. All I need to do now is when I meditate, call upon her and tell her what it is I want to find out about. This is so extremely cool!!
So when I met her in my meditation today I told her that I've had a very old curiosity about whether I lived during the lifetime of Joan of Arc. I used to have very strong convictions about her life and her role in history and felt a heartfelt connection to her. I did not think about this before getting into the tank today. It just came to me when I met Aunt Lari. It was like she prompted me to deal with this old curiosity now. So I agreed to let her lead me to the room in the records where I could find out why I had this fascination with her.
We got to the room and she looked at me like, "Go on, get in there!" I pushed open the door and went inside. Only seconds passed before I saw the scene of myself being an 8-year-old girl. I was sitting at a table in the abode of a family - my father came inside, home from the wars - he was a soldier in Joan of Arc's army! And he started to tell me the stories of what she was really like. He was a humble servant of hers and loved her very much. I was enamored with the stories and felt like I wanted to commit my life to her. I saw myself grow up through my teenage years as a tomboy that play-fight with neighborhood boys - which was a defense for me to protect my virginity. What I wanted to do, and what I did end up doing was joining a convent and became a nun, dedicated specifically to the life of Joan. Crazy, huh? I feel very satisfied knowing this information and accept it totally as an explanation of why I've been infatuated with her in this lifetime.
Okay, so I left that room and asked her what else there was I could learn about now. She ended up taking me to 3 other rooms where I was able to learn specific information about aspects of my life that I've had questions about. Questions that I've never been able to find helpful answers to. Until now.
One room I saw myself as a penny-pinching old man that hoarded money and never spent it pleasurably. My question was "why do I think it's okay to spend money that I can't afford to spend?" So the answer I got was that I feel like it's owed to me to be able to spend. There is still more information I need to get about this problem, but that was a beginning insight.
In another room, I asked about "why don't I finish things?" Like, finishing college, or finishing my novel. I saw in that room that one time I had parents that punished me if I didn't perform in activities up to their expectations. So this lifetime, I'm saying I don't care what anybody else says. I won't finish if I don't want to. It gives me permission to be lazy yet not feel guilty. I'm starting to find a way to come out of that mindset. I want to finish my novel because I want to feel the joy of completing what I started for my own sake.
The last room I went into I wanted to know why I do not get to be in relationships in this lifetime. I saw myself twice being a man that had many wives. The older lifetime I had a harem of wives and was very happy. The second more recent life I saw that I was a Mormon and had many wives, but I did not treat them well. So perhaps I've experienced enough lifetimes having relationships, but specifically, since I was a mean husband in that one lifetime, perhaps I'm punishing myself in this incarnation for that behavior. Regardless, the more ultimate reasoning for being alone in this lifetime is that I'm on a spiritual track moving towards complete enlightenment.
I had one more question before I left the Akashic Records and that was if she could show me what I chose for my future. Would I eventually come to meet someone that I'd be in a happy, lasting relationship with? I saw a glimpse of myself being at my book signing, but there was no sign of me being connected to anyone there. I was happy to see that I finished the novel though!
Then right after that last vision, I heard Greg knocking on the outside of the floatation tub. My hour was finished. Perfect timing!
Not sure when I'll go back for my second session. I'll probably wait at least a month. I see this as an alternative to needing therapy. Same thing with getting aura readings at Intuitive Way. Once a month, or once every other month it's a small price to pay for a check-in which gives me so much more help than therapy ever could.
