new things...
since no one reads this blog i think it will be ok to say a few things here. i will have a new website online this week. yes, an actual website, not just a blog. it is going to be my first attempt at putting a semi-professional looking photo gallery online. i am not a programmer or web designer so i don't know how impressive it will be, so hey, don't be hard on me. i'll announce here when it is up.
speaking of websites, i came up with an idea yesterday for a website, a Web 2.0 type thingy. imagine this scenario if you will. you have something you want to say, a strong emotion you want to express and you want to use strong language. you know, maybe you feel like cursing out your boss. you'd write a letter or a blog entry but those are traceable and so you resist. but the emotions are boiling up inside of you and you can't stand it. you wish there was somewhere you could make an anonymous shout out to the world, you know, like going out into an empty field and shouting at the top of your lungs - "I hate you, you messed up boss!"
then you find my new website. the anonymous shout out place. you don't need to create an account here, unless you want to keep private record of your shout outs. the thing about this site is that you can type out your most intense thoughts and emotions without fear of who they are really meant for ever knowing you said it. the experience of getting to say exactly what you need to say out of your head and heart and having the satisfaction of saying it aloud where the world invisibly knows that someone made an expression...
ok, i see this site being called I AM AS BLANK AS BLANK AND I CAN'T STAND IT ANYMORE! where BLANK could be MAD or HAPPY, i.e. I AM AS MAD AS HELL, or I AM AS HAPPY AS HEAVEN... you would get to choose the type of emotion you need to express. the site would display a map that would show active "shout outs" and where in the world they are coming from. for instance, the city with the largest amount of positive minded shoutouts would have a large glowing, green orb. you could click on that orb to get a deeper look into the actual shot-outs that are being sent. since it is anonymous though, actual locations/ISPs would not be displayed. it could be a meter to display the emotions of a locale though.
when the site is up to full force i'd imagine looking at the map to be similar to looking at popcorn popping. the point of the site is to be able to say something you need to say without worrying about who it is being said to hear knowing what you are really thinking of them. and the purpose is to encourage people to feel free to say EXACTLY what they are feeling. if you had fear of that person actually knowing you said what you thought you could choose an option to encrypt your text. if you are embarrassed of the world knowing your exact words you could choose to encrypt the output.
on a philosophical level, i see this as a system that could enact the power of using telepathy for people. for instance, there is someone i knew in high school (over 30 years ago) that i have no idea of where in the world she is. i think about her a lot though. i wonder where she is, what she is doing. it's sort of like she is stuck in my head and i wish i could talk to her, say things to her that i didn't get to say before... and the chance of ever finding her and never getting to say these things pains me. i'd write letters to her, in fact i have, but not knowing where she is, or even if she is still alive. i could write a shout out to her through this website, not with the belief that she would ever hear it or read it, but with the belief that in my making my hearts expression and activating it, like a prayer, it is going out into the ethers and she may somehow come to sense that i was thinking about her.
i know that we do not need computers to do this. i actually do this all the time, invisibly from my own mind. i think though that with the use of technology, with the use of the internet, this is a means to activate a belief and practice in a wider population to start thinking this way and doing this on their own. so there is the I AM MAD AS HELL, and the I AM HAPPY AS HEAVEN shout out sections. there could also be a section for prayers. DEAR POWERS THAT BE, I PRAY FOR... without any religious affiliation. again, the thing is that it doesn't matter what you say, say exactly what you feel and think... no one knows who uttered the prayer, it is just a tool to get your words out of your heart and head.
this site, if created intriguingly enough could generate a lot of traffic and it would be wonderful if i could figure out a way to generate income from it. ok, more thoughts when they arise.
