new moon (newness, or not)

I have never been confident about setting new moon intentions. I've read the guidelines many people online share about their ideas of how to do this, and attempted to follow many of them, but it's never really jelled for me. The attempts have felt haphazard, forced, half-cocked and unsurprisingly as a result I've seen entire months go by with no evidence of the changes I've desired to see in my life manifest. So I stopped doing them. Maybe for an entire year... Then this month, out of the blue, my sidekick brought the idea back and suggested we give it a try again. I think she had probably kept up the practice, she's good about using tools like this. She has a much wiser understanding of astrology too, which might give her efforts more oomph When she made this suggestion to try it out this month, I had not even been aware that the moon had gone dark in the sky, haha ;) and didn't know it was the evening before the new moon. So here's what I didn't do, an...

since the so much has happened...

Update: that new theory about dowsing lotto numbers, philanthropically - kablooie. Still can't get all 4 numbers right. I can still get 3 numbers right, and have the 4th number off by just one... I'm not giving up on this, but until I gain some new, even fresher perspective, I'm taking a break. So when the pandemic began back in March, a good friend (from just a couple years back) reached out to check in on me and my family. It's sad that our friendship has lapsed because overall I saw the good in her soul. And she was readily available to me for conversation. She also attended mom's memorial service, which was really quite huge. Anyway, she gave me the name of this woman that makes regular video commentaries about the spiritual ascension process that is occurring on earth right now. I listened to her most current video that very night, and I was impressed by her insights and the compassion she expressed for her listeners. I now listen to whatever she publishes as...

so much has happened, is it even worth...

coming to this place to say anything, any longer? I don't know. Probably not, but it is still a place where my writing activates when I have reason to self-reflect or summarize what's going on. So I'll give it a try now. I was having a discussion a few days ago with a friend via text message, about a topic that I was failing to make my point clear about, and I thought, perhaps this would be a good topic to blog about, so let me think for a second whether I do in fact want to delve into that here and now or not. Backtracking a little bit, it is now June 2020, and anyone else alive on earth at this time knows about the current events concerning life on earth - I won't go into any grandiose philosophy about all of that... other than to say I'm coming thru this whole fiasco rather unscathed, and in fact, I feel stronger as a result of all the turmoil that has befallen large portions of society. My meditation/spiritual practices are stronger and more effective now, f...

Morning Page...

So I was Googling "how to become your own muse" and came across an interesting blog. The writer had a very interesting entry about this actual matter. How to become the source of one's own inspiration for whatever creative processes they partake in. I don't feel like linking it here, but I want to mention one thing he said was good to do, and that is to take time to write something when you first wake up in the morning. To write about anything and everything that is on your mind. He got the idea from writer, Julia Cameon, who wrote the book "The Artists Way"... So I think that this is basically what I do in ths blog, write about whatever is on my mind. But it's so undisciplined and irregular. Maybe if I were to start making myself write a "Morning Page" here everyday, and not restrict myself to niceties - I used to write a lot more freely about my thoughts and ideas in this blog, but I know as of late I've been much more restrained from t...

still here...

So a weird thing happened... November 1st arrived, and even though I had zero plans to participate in Nanowrimo this year, I found myself in a cafe, writing. Writing opening pages to a brand new Nanowrimo novel. It was like physical memory compelled me to obey my inner instincts. Bizarre, eh? Hahaha, I'm so glad it happened, because I did actually have some ideas earlier this summer about a new project I wanted to write but never got past just jotting down a few notes and ideas. Today I've completed three days of writing the minimum daily requirement, so that's a positive sign!

Fallow-een...

I have not felt the October-spirit of Halloween for a very long time. Other than driving around neighborhoods with my mom to look at how other people decorated their homes, I have not participated in Halloween activities since my son was a young boy. This is not because I do not enjoy this holiday and this season. It's because of a lack of connection I feel with other people that I can share the experience with. I don't dress up on the 31st. I don't give out candy. I don't make my house look haunted (it already looks haunted, and probably IS haunted). And I don't go to Halloween parties. I don't think I've ever been to a Halloween party. So there's that... Contrarily, I pretty much celebrate the spirit and energy of Halloween-ish things every day of my life. I watch at least one horror film or paranormal TV show a day. I love being in cemeteries. I do rituals to heal my dead ancestors. I'm fascinated with gothic art and symbols of death. I spent a ...

just another Wednesday, sitting in a cafe...

I really felt like I could come here (in my blog) and write everyday, when I said that last week, but due to a job I had, which I'll speak a little bit about here, I felt incapable of focusing enough to write, anything. So I make extra money on the side doing "gig jobs". I primarily work for Door Dash, which I find highly enjoyable to do. The work feels so freeing, emotionally and structurally, I only work when I want to. For a slacker like me, it's such a perfect job. And I can literally make money instantly. I just finished working a 3 hour shift today (lunchtime) and made $50 which I instantly deposited into my bank account. The other gig job I do is pet sitting and dog walking. I did this for about a month until I became fed up with it. The pay is low, VERY low in comparison, and the stress level is VERY HIGH. The job I had this weekend, was taking care of 3 very adorable dogs in the house of an old high school friend. The community was under a severe weather wa...
