new season of the Dead Files begins tonight...

Over the past few years I have become a very strong fan of the work that both Amy Allen and Steve Dischavi do on this paranormal ghost hunting show that airs on the Travel Channel. At the height of my enthusiasm, I tried to attend a weekend clinic that Amy gave in Auburn, California - a 4 hour drive from my home, so all I had to come up with was about $1300 to participate. I did not have enough money, and was very disenheartened not to have a chance to speak with Amy in person to discuss what I felt were my own developing skills as a psychic healer. Amy recommends that many of her clients that live in haunted homes obtain the services of Reiki Masters, a title which I have acquired and wanted to learn from her whether my abilities were advanced enough to be able to work with haunted peoples/families, or if there were more specific training that she thought I needed, or if I was completely just someone who had no business trying to work with the dead at all. For how busy Amy is, I felt blessed that she responed to some questions via Twitter that I sent to her, but that was pretty much the end of my attempts to pursue her personal blessings/insights.

This entire thing of being fascinated by the topic of working with the dead, may end up being an aspect of being mentally ill. I know that many people I know that are not "psychic" or "mentally ill" would totally agree that this business of talking to spirits is "all made up"... but I have never had a chance yet to speak with my psychiatrist about this. Years and years ago... one psycihiatrist I was under the care of, I think she would say this is an aspect of being unwell. I've talked in this blog years and years ago about how the mental health provessionals I have been under the care of wholeheartedly thought that anytime I said I could talk to any sort of inanimate object, that it was "craziness" (my term, not theres). Trees, living trees where the main non-human object that I could carry on conversations with. When I told them about that they upped my medications dramatically. It's been a long time now since I have been as medicated as I was back then, and yes, I do still take one so called mood-stabilizer, but I am only slowly becoming able to reconnect with and speak to trees again. They never convinced me that I was imagining that activity, I always did believe it was a real experience, and I miss it. It's not something that anyone can just pull out of their hat and start doing tho. There has to be a connection from both sides. Just talking about it now gets me wanting to start working harder at opening up this channel of flow with them.

Back to the idea of "talking to the dead"... This is something that I feel I've been able to do for most of my life, but in these latter years of life, it's become easier and more prevelant of an activity. And for the most part, it's something that I've pretty much taught myself how to do, thru experimentation. But it's experimentation that has been predominately successful. I've had more success at it than failures. The thing is, that I am the judge of what's a successful experience and what's not.

I feel that watching Dead Files is like being in Ghost Hunting University and that my abilities are activated by watching Amy work. I take notes while watching the show (when I mentioned that on a reddit forum for TDF people cheered and wanted me to share my notes. that led me to thinking about rewatching every episode and taking immacculate notes to share... I just didn't have the mental focus or strength to tackle that). In the end, the truest method of training for this kind of work, imho, is deep trance meditation. The more easily someone can enter into open trance states where communication with other realms can take place, the better a healer of the dead one can become.

I've done on multiple occaisions done trance healing sessions for recently deceased souls... and I have sensations that lead me to believe I can see these beings, I can see where they are in the process of moving their spirit from this physical earth realm and assist them to meet with their loved ones in Heaven. There is no one that can watch me do this and determine whether I'm actually successful or if it's all just my imagination.

Okay so this is only a brief blog entry, not a treatise on what my beliefs are, so I'm going to cut this short now and just say that I'm super excited to see what happens in the new episode tonight. Perhaps I'll feel inclined to write more about it later. (For some reason Grammarly did not activate during the writing of this blog, so please forgive and ignore any blatant spelling/grammar errors)

This is a tough subject for me. I would not call myself a skeptic or agnostic, because I am open minded and am always in awe of all aspects of our universe. However, I have a practical and pragmatic side, and an imaginative side. The practical side uses logic to find solutions and resolve problems. The imaginative side creates but can also be used to find solutions and resolve problems.

But I have never experienced the type of things you talk about in this blog post, so my logical side considers logical explanations and my creative side accepts the possibility you present.

So if you take the practical mind in one hand, and the imaginative mind in the other hand, then look into the space in between those realms, this is where what I'm talking about here goes on... You use the skills of practical thinking to explore the visions your imagination opens up to you in the "spirit realm"... I never knew when I was a teenager that I'd be doing these types of things later in my life... the course of life's events takes you to places you never imagined you'd go... so who know, Thomas, maybe one day you'll begin to discover such experiences like these too!
