Counting down...

I've arrived almost an hour early for todays photo shoot. I'm sitting in my car listening to Godspeed Ye Emperor in front of the Chapel of the Chimes in Oakland, California while I wait for my model to arrive.

It's a gloomy June day, overcast sky, cool soft breeze. Big storm expected to blow in tonight. My model today is someone I've photographed once before, three years ago. Why have intentions of using todays work in a book of poetry which she will write.

I have five more models on my calendar to photograph between now and the first of July. Then I will begin the process of creating my next annual Cemetery Girls book. Over 25 new models this year.

I'm getting tired though. My body aches all the time. A year ago I would have canceled shoots on days when I hurt like I do today. I feel committed to this work right now. Like it is the only thing protecting my sanity.

After July I think I will just go back to work on my writing. Maybe...
