when i looked next, he was caught up in a whirlwind and swept up to heaven!
i used to love to read the Book of Ezekiel, imagining what a prophet actually looked like, wizened and withered by life in the desert and overwhelmed by the voices of God. and what things he actually did to bring about the summation of his life; being swept up into heaven in a whirlwind. surely today someone would simply interpret that to be being blown away by a tornado. something that happens annually anymore.
regardless, i refer the old man and his ecstasy because i'm in a bit of an ecstatic whirlwind myself right now. my artistic projects are in a pretty hefty full swing and i just hope that i can physically endure the stress that my body needs to endure to achieve all the things i'm aiming to complete.
the end of last week was "weird". a model that i was supposed to photograph on Friday just vanished. we had last communicated online over the preceding weekend and confirmed that our plans were solid, and that she was "in need" of the $50 i was going to pay her to model nude. she told me she's phone me mid week to go over details about where to meet her, etc. but she never called. nor wrote. and no sign of her even signing into her Model Mayhem account. so i jumped into backup plan mode. had to find a replacement model to take her time slot. found one, and virtually booked the time slot in less than two hours time. which was amazing! but then another voice came into the conversation and i had a decision to make... well, i was beginning to try to make this a good story to rehear but i'm actually a little too tired to spend the time to tell it all right now.
in summary, i went with shooting a third model, a model i've photographed 3 times already who i actually consider to be a close friend now. yeah, i'm too tired to write this all out right now. i really should be at home working on photo edits, which i have like a million to go through, and that problem is only going to get worse because i am shooting a new model every week between now and the first week of July.
ok, but if i don't tell this story now i'll probably never tell it and i do want to get it out. i sort of have a crush on this model. i have since the very first time i met her and photographed her over 3 years ago. each time we meet and shoot together, we become better friends. i sort of have romantic imaginations about her, but i really don't think there is any possibility that something like that will ever develop. i don't want to expose all of my thoughts here, right now about everything. it's possible i'll write more about it later. one thing though, is that we are VERY different people with very different lifestyles and needs. our common connecting points are pretty small, so really, for me to imagine spending a lifetime with this person... i don't think that could happen. although, who knows... maybe it could. in essence though, i don't think i could handle her. and i don't think she could handle me.
okay, i'll throw this out there too. it is a fantasy of mine to fall in love with a model, and for such a person to fall in love with me too. and for that person to allow me to obsess about creating art of them. i want to have someone in my life that i love and adore so much that the rest of the world will fade away from my vision and i will only want to capture her with my camera. and to be able to do it every single day for the rest of our lives... the crush i have on this one model, i imagine the possibility of this more so with her than anyone i've ever met in my photography career before, but i am being honest about the unlikeliness of it happening.
the universe knows i desire this. if it is meant to be, so mote it be.
