ahh blogger, how i've missed thee...
Wow, nearly a year since I last wrote something here. That's really sad. I did try to write something to post here a couple months ago but there were technical difficulties in transferring the text from Google Docs to blogger, and my text would not display. Some issue with the display qualities of my blogger account that I'm to burnt out to try and fix. So now I'm typing this in by hand. What you see is what you get.
So why am I writing here today? Because I miss writing. I miss writing for the sake of being able to get outside of my head and explain things to myself. Mainly. But I also miss writing creatively. And what i'm thinking is perhaps if I start writing here regularly again, maybe it'll oil my gears enough to reawaken the joy of writing for me.
Not really sure about what I want to talk about today. Didn't really feel a burning need to talk about anything important. Just wanted to talk. One thing that's been on my mind recently is my health. I've come down with bronchitis twice in the past two months and ended up spending a week in bed each time. Maybe I give into depressive energies when I get sick like this and spend more time in bed than is really necessary, but somehow the downtime feels deserved. Which opens another question for debate. Am I suffering from depression right now? I think deep under the surface of my daily emotions I am depressed. Not severely though. I am fairly well able to function, but I am not performing at high levels of inspiration and execution. This is a good launching point for deeper discussion here.
This has been an interesting year for me. Two major discoveries and accomplishments have developed, and/or occurred for me. One was becoming a Reiki Master, and the other was discovering self-employment options thru companies like Door Dash and Rover. Basically, this means that I've advanced spiritually this year and that I've found a way to make some extra money that helps me get through the month without having to be dedicated to full-time employment. Not having to work for an establishment (like Peets or Savers) gives me such freedom. I "Door Dash" whenever I want to for as long as I want to. When I get tired of doing it, any given day, I can just sign-out and go home. I'm not trying to get rich doing this job, I just need a few extra bucks each month to pay the bills. Working for "Rover" gives me a break from Door Dashing, because I mainly take pet sitting jobs from them. Which is like getting to have a little vacation away from home where I get to stay in some very nice homes. The only problem with pet sitting is that I cannot go home until the job is finished. If I get sick during a pet sit, I have to stay there until the end. Fingers crossed this won't become an issue.
So all the Reiki initiations took place during the "wet season", the juicy, rainy Autumn and Winter months we experienced late last year and early this year. Strangely, once the rainy season ended I felt a strange shift in my bodies ability to tolerate the "dry weather" of Spring and Summer. Basically what happened was that I no longer felt able to travel to the school in Lafayette where I got my Reiki initiations to partake in the Reiki clinics that they hold there 3 times a month. So pretty much since May I've only been practicing Reiki on myself, and by sending it distantly to others. This was sad in a way, but it was also very empowering to see that I could maintain and continue to develop my abilities to heal with Reiki thru just doing it independently.
Well, I think this might be all that I'll say tonight. This felt good. Thanks for still being here, Blogger.
