what is this world coming too...
hahaha, that title may make you want to read more...!!
ok, i read a book many, many years ago. it was written in the 70's (so i probably read it in the 80's). it was about experiments that psychics in Russia performed. the experiement that stuck in my mind was how, using their mental powers and registering a belief that "all things have happened before", or that future events are already established and that we are just living out our existences in a sort of déjà vu mode. like we are "remembering the future". so what they did was to go into quasi-meditative states of mind and found out what the next days winning lotto numbers were going to be. and it worked! they were repeatedly able to determine what the winning numbers were going to be. since it was a scientific, government funded study they stopped the experiment shortly after it succeeded. this has stuck in my mind all these years though.
i've had plenty of other philosophies in my head about "wealth" and "prosperity" through the worship of the hindu deity Lakshmi to the repetition of new age affirmations. and i haven't won the lotto yet. but now i think something different is coming into place for me.
after reading the theories of Wanda Pratnicka about familial ghosts' "haunting" powers, that jealous or vindictive deceased can affect the lives and livelihoods of those they left behind, and that these hauntings can be brought to cease, i think i am approaching a breakthrough in the "poverty illness" of my life.
i've played the lotto for as long as it has been available in California. not religiously in the sense that i buy tickets for every drawing, but i'd say i'm a regular player; maybe spending $30 a year on tickets. oh, and this is a little funny/sad. i saw a show on A&E while in Chicago about lotto winners that become big losers. people who by winning the lotto actually turn into big losers, or as in the case of this documentary, bigger losers than they were before they won. as if they were "cursed" by the winnings. those people obviously had a huge attittude of "loss" and "lack" in their lives so when they won they used the money to fill up those areas of loss and lack in their lives. it was certainly a viewpoint that made me review my own attitude towards my monetary position in the world. money can make people crazy.
sooo, where am i going with this? i can feel that something has changed in the ethers around me. i feel like a dark cloud is being broken up, like maybe the money curse that i have been under all of my life is starting to erode. i am exercising, to some degree the new wave tenets that it is okay to receive things we need from the universe, but i am not praying to God for a favor. and i am tuning into the existing déjà vu links to the future to determine what upcoming lotto numbers are going to be.
case in point; the numbers i chose for the California Mega-Millions drawing on September 28, 2007.
i got one number right. right off the bat, that is better than i have done in lotto drawings for almost an entire year. left to the gods of luck, how i usually play (quick pick) i have had zero correct numbers for as long as i can remember. when i chose these numbers i did what one of the people in the documentary did; concentrated and chose numbers he "felt" were right.
now, my notes on the ticket. 4, 13, 20, and 25 were the correct numbers. i was just 3 off on all 4 of those numbers. and 33 was correct. i was way off on the Mega number though; theirs was 42. a non-winning ticket.
i found this to be very encouraging and bought another ticket tonight.

this time i got two numbers right! and two others were only two off being correct. an improvement, eh? still screwy about that Mega number though. and this is also a non-winning ticket.
what did i do differently? i brought home the fill sheets and selected the numbers just before i drifted off to sleep last night. there is another drawing tomorrow; Super-Lotto. i'll let you know how i do if i improve. if it gets worse i probably won't say anything, seeing what a spotty blogger i've been lately.
what would i do if i won $12 million (tonight's big prize)? first off i would pay off all of my debts. second off i would call for some charity to come and collect all the derelict/breaking down automobiles on our property. third, i would go out and buy new vehicles for my brother and myself. then i would force myself to settle down and come to terms with making a charitable donation; probably $50-100k to a homeless shelter that aids the mentally ill in San Francisco and/or L.A. next would come discussions about where everyone wants to live; my mom, my brother, and my son. i'd pretty much give them whatever they wanted. then i would decide about where i wanted to live. the way things look now i would snatch up the old family homestead in Ohio (and prepare to go live there for a year). but before running back there i would go to Santa Cruz and find a place to call home; to come back to after the year is up. i would probably ask Shannon and Teale to take care of the place for me, plus be sure to get a big enough place so that they could choose to continue living there with me when i return, if they want.
i think that would be it! i have enough gadgets already. i don't watch t.v. or movies hardly at all anymore. i'm getting old and tired and want to settle down and get serious about my work. my writing in particular. oh, i could see becoming extravagant and paying for massages once a week but i would not buy fancy clothes (maybe some new clothes and decent walking shoes) nor a fancy car, although i do really appreciate having a good sound system in my vehicle! i'd probably give my mom, brother and son an allowance of some sort too.
i was going to write about something entirely different here but am too tired now to continue. later...
