I had no feeling of being associated with Ireland today other than the fact that I got a phone call from my son in Dublin at midnight his time. I did listen to Irish music broadcast live via the Net from Dublin though and did watch the webcam at the street corner where I met my Irish bride back in 1980. Oh, and ate a very basic corned beef, potato, cabbage, carrot and turnip dinner with this god-awful, sweetened horseradish sauce.

Other than that, this fella's blog post sums all-things-Irish up pretty well. Well, not really but brevity has it's high points.

Sometimes I hate the laws of karma that bind me to this reality so much. I hate living in a place that suffers this heat in the summertime so badly too and would gladly pay in slave labor to be able to live in Santa Cruz, or some other affable place near a pleasant seashore that would soothe my body... and my soul. I don't know why I'm not allowed to live in Santa Cruz.
