ADRIAN BELEW live @ Slim's - San Francisco

last night fortune smiled upon me again and i won tickets to a show at Slim's in San Francisco. it was a show i would have been happy to purchase a ticket to attend, but finances and the fact that i should have been in class last night urged my better sense to not indulge. thank you fates for changing the course of my life, yet again.

seeing Adrian perform last night was a phenomenal experience. there was one person between me and him i was that close to the stage. oh, and i am done using my phone cam to document concerts that i attend when i could very well have been using my "real camera" - so i apologize for this soft focus/artsy shots.

watching him, hearing him - the King Crimson influences and collaborations that he need not be embarrassed of owning rights to play; he is one ecstatically happy man that emotes through a machine, a guitar, and well - i was electrified, the crowd was electrified, probably the most on-fire audience i've been part of at a show at Slim's. truly marvelous night.

Hey, these pics are cool and the first ones I've seen of last night. Thank you. Now. Can you email me and tell me how you managed to get music playing on your blog? That's been my fantasy for two years!

Daryl,

It took me until tonight to browse over to your blog. I responded to your previous comment on mine and then clicked through.

So, here are some funny coincidences --- we're both Virgos, both into Adrian and King Crimson, both into photography, both led by fate this week THROUGH Adrian.

Weird, huh?

And I met both of you and adore you both (Burt, did you see Ade's webmaster linked your photos on www.adrianbelew.net)...and now Daryl has one of my favorite Krimson songs on his blog and it may take me all day, but I'm going to figure out how to get music on my blog, too!

ok, ok - i'll write something...

Sometimes I hate the laws of karma that bind me to this reality so much. I hate living in a place that suffers this heat in the summertime so badly too and would gladly pay in slave labor to be able to live in Santa Cruz, or some other affable place near a pleasant seashore that would soothe my body... and my soul. I don't know why I'm not allowed to live in Santa Cruz. When Billy and I became able to live there from 1995 to 1998 it was like we had won a huge lottery, like I had worked my way out of an enormous prison sentence and I was given a liberty to experience freedom from the previous 35 years of junk-karma I had created for myself. Was it the benefits of hard work? Or luck? Or karmic justice? Now I cannot even afford the price of a tank of gas for a day trip to Santa Cruz and my body aches so much from the mental woes and worries my mental disease inflicts me with, I'm afraid that if I got into the 50 degree waters for 30 minutes of body surfing that my musc...
