looking into the past...

Past lives, that is. When I was at Intuitive Way, one of their main focuses was about reading past life information for people. We were taught to read them by getting intuitive (clairvoyant) impressions from their aura (and chakras). We were not taught how to read our own, personal past lives though. By that I mean that I was not taught how to read my own past lives. I could read the past lives of a classmate though.

So I want to find out how to read my own past life information. And I've found some literature that describes how to do it. It's not all that complicated to do either. You basically need to be able to enter into a trance state, and then follow some guided visualizations to get you into the right place to find that information.

I tried doing this the past two nights. The first time I tried it I specifically wanted to find out past life info about my very close friend and I. I wanted to see what we were in past lives together. Clear as day, I got to the right place and found out who we were.

The first life I saw for the two of us, I saw us as infants together and we were twin siblings! It was a real surprise to me, I never had suspected that we could have had such an experience together before. I saw us at the age of toddlers with thick mops of very dark hair on our heads. Looking around in the scene that I found us in, I found a large artist's gallery full of paint and paintings. Our parents were artists! What I saw next, and this is what made the most sense out of relation to what we have been experiencing together in this lifetime - is "she", my friend liked to get me to pose for her so that she could make artistic images from me. This was a behavior that she learned from watching our parents at work. And this is what has been reflected in our current lifetimes - I have put her in the role of being "the poser" so that I can make artistic images of her.

Being the first time that I've done this kind of meditation, I didn't feel a lot of strength to go exploring more deeply inside the trance. I got that little bit of satisfying info and then chose to move on. I left that scene and then decided to look for one more life in which I lived with her. And just that quickly I found another scene where she was a professor and I was her student! Which is an opposite flip of the scenario we have been experiencing this life time. I'm not her professor, nor is she in school, but I have been in the roll of wise elder that has led her to learn many new things.

Also, both of these lives (obviously the life as siblings) showed no romantic connections between us. So after that second life I saw, I felt satisfied with my discoveries, and came out of the meditation.

So last night after reading some more instructions on how to read your own past lives, I decided to go looking for more information. I specifically wanted to find a life in which I had been a writer before - hoping to get some insight and energy that would help me become more serious about my writing career now, in this lifetime.

What I found was myself as an old man sitting at a table full of papers that he had been writing on. He wrote with a quilled pen with ink and there were stacks and stacks of papers that he wrote onto. He wrote with much excitement, he never seemed to tire of writing. But what he wrote, I did not see. Since there was a look of joy on his face, at least it seemed to be a task he enjoyed. Also I saw that on a wall of his room there were shelves full of the books that he had filled up with his writing. The vision of him was curious - he almost looked like a cartoon figure to me. He was short and wizened with a lot of white curly hair. I also saw that he had a lot of children... I couldn't get more specific information about him though - like where he was and what the time period was. I think that as I continue to develop my trance skills I'll begin to be able to see more information.

When the trance ended I was on the verge of feeling sad. I think that was because I did not have my friend present (in my life at this time) to be able to share with her my experience. That could have spiraled into a bout of depression but I was able to catch myself by regrounding and being present with myself - realizing that I really don't need anyone elses validation for doing this. I can validate myself. And that's what I did.

Further in my reading yesterday I found a meditation that I wish we had been taught at Intuitive Way. It focuses on beginning meditation with an acknowledgment of the source of power of our own individual identity, which is inside our solar plexus. By focusing on this location first, you then go on to ground, then go on to bring in spiritual energy from the source above our heads.

So, first step is to acknowledge the solar plexus energy, then ground your fist chakra to the center of the earth, draw up earth energy - draw down cosmic energy and then let them circulate together inside the solar plexus... I think though if you just focus on empowering the solar plexus energy the other two sources of energy will be automatically pulled into your space and will generate their own mixing. I'm gonna read more!
