good January, NICE boy...
this is one of the best starts to a new year that i've had in quite a long time. photo project is in full swing, health is not too bad, although i am still suffering from some issues regarding muscle aches and cramping. a very amazing friend gifted me with $100 in cash recently and i've decided to spend it on a massage. booked one this afternoon that will happen on Thursday at noon. i'm already raving about this massage therapist because she has already made me feel good from just talking to her on the phone. so here is my pre-massage plug for her; Wendy.
next week i go to Los Angeles for one of the most exciting endeavors of my entire life. i am going to spend an afternoon photographing a very talented, beautiful, and highly adored writer at Hollywood Forever Cemetery for my Cemetery Girl project. this is the tantamount experience of my photography career to date. what doors this may open for me, i am as of yet unaware of. i feel that it will open many doors though. of course, you will all hear more about this later.
the other thing that i am feeling motivated about is my writing project. i am picking it back up again. its a much more difficult project for me than my photography project because i have to use carefully selected words to create with, not just images of beautiful creatures. this too you will hear more about...
on another front, i've just come in contact with a bevy of relatives that i never even knew that i had before. about a year ago i loaded information about my family tree at a website called geni.com. turns out this is another social networking site and that there are people out there using this site that i'm related to. my relative's names have shown up in other people's searches, thus, through comparing information we've been able to learn of our relatedness. and i've got a ton of new information about unknown relatives that live all across this country AND in Europe. such a flood of information, i have not been able to fully absorb the magnitude of it yet. needless to say, i'm very excited about this.
the last thing i want to tell you about now is that tomorrow night i'm going to take a class here in town at the public library. it is a KNITTING class! yep, i'm gonna learn how to knit. i've already found a social network where other men who knit socialize and talk about their knitting projects. how cool is this? i've never tried to knit before and don't have any realistic idea of how difficult it will be to learn, but i'm gonna do it anyway. it will be a good alternate hobby for me to have. something to take me away from the computer, and hopefully activate another portion of my brain. and be relaxing too.
