culmination of my concert photography career

Adrian Belew Power Trio - Slim's - 2.23.2008

This is one of the most favorite of all the concert photos I've ever taken. It's the closing moment of the show when Adrian introduces Julie and Eric Slick to the audience. Strangely, I only photographed one more concert after this show. These photos were some of the best I ever shot. The last concert I shot (Explosions in the Sky) - well, the results were like I had never shot a concert at all before. The photos were so bad. It was like the magic spell had worn off.

The performer's expressions in this photo speak so much to me. About the realization and manifestation of the dream I had of becoming a concert photographer since I was 18 years old, which occurred in the 49th year of my life. Who knows what old dreams will come true in the upcoming years.
