new year, but my only resolution is...
to be as attuned to pursuing the attainment of my life's purpose as much as humanly and divinely possible each and every day. I'm setting no concrete goals that I want to attain because these usually end up turning into limitations for me. Usually, I set too high of a goal, and when I find it unattainable my hopes crumble. By waking up to a clean slate every day I'll be free to discover new inspirations I may have never imagined before if I had given myself too many simpler goals to chase. I dunno, maybe this sounds like a copout of some sort. But it's just the way that I've gravitated towards living and behaving over this past year.
Here's an example. I've always kept the dream alive of wanting to travel. But due to economical constraints, I've never really been able to do much. The last trip I made was Labor Day weekend 2019 to bury mom's ashes in Ohio. Coming up with the money for that trip felt ultra-miraculous. Prior to that, the last trip I made was to Portland, Oregon (with Scarlett) about 6 years ago. That also felt miraculous. If you are a long time reader of my blog, you get it that money is not a happy camper in my life. I muster up what I need to survive, but as far as luxuries like travel go, it takes miracles. My point about this new year being, with literal travel restrictions being impinged on society, I'm not feeling like something is being taken away from me. I'm already used to not being able to travel, haha!
So in essence, this makes my life easier. I can remove from my mind dreams of visiting/or living in Paris, or Nepal, or Ohio and be more focused on duties that lie before me here in real-time. Like cleaning my bedroom. Which is at the bottom of my list of "fun activities"...
Will I choose to prioritize more academic activities this year? Well, I've already talked myself out of the need to study astrology. I'm not smart enough or committed enough to spend the time it would take to become fluent in giving people astrological readings or advice. I'm just not. I don't have a knack for the memory it takes to become fluent in it. If I had someone to learn along with, maybe it'd be different. But I don't. Just like when I became a Reiki Master. If it hadn't been for my best friend Scarlett doing it with me, I'd never even have come up with the idea.
I'm more attuned and accepting of the fact that I live my life on my own now, and that I just have to settle for doing the things that I can inspire myself to do alone. This makes me feel stronger, I believe in myself more, but it takes toning down my crazy visions that I used to have about believing I can do anything. I know that I still can do whatever I want, I just need to dream simpler.
Anyway, enough about the mundane things... where my spirit soars is when it comes to spiritual growth. My spirit has expanded and grown so much in this past year from the simple effort of closing my eyes and going inward in meditation. Meditative states are the doorway for so many other things I'm learning how to do. The Reiki healings that I can give when I enter into meditation are so much more powerful than the in-person healings I can give. Or at least I've come to believe this is true now. The other form of healing that I'm exploring learning how to do is called "spirit retrieval", or healing of lost souls that get trapped here in the earth plane; literally being able to help "ghosts" cross over to the other side/heaven. These two activities, giving healings to the living, and to the dead, I could spend all the rest of the days of my life doing this work... as long as I still have interesting places in nature to get outside to recharge my soul. Oh, how I still long to live nearer to the sea...
Okay, gonna end this here. Maybe one resolution will be to come back to writing here more often. I have better focus when I'm able to get my thoughts focused well thru blogging. We'll see...
