neverending november newness

So I wrote enthusiastically for Nanowrimo for 12 whole days. I got good beginnings on 5 or 6 completely different storylines. Which was pretty much all that my focus was set on achieving. I still stand by using Write-Or-Die as a magical method of awakening the inner muse. It somehow kicks me into a higher mental state where I don't have to overly, second by second think about what it is I want to write. By getting connected to this elevated state, be it intuition or genuinely the place where the muse dwells, words just flow out and I write things much more complex than I would write if I were to think with just my normal mind. I'm sure other people must experience something similar using this writing tool. Whether I'll return to these stories that I started or not depends on my ability to generate inspiration and discipline to reopen these documents and put determined energy into editing and expanding them. This is what I SHOULD do. We'll just see what transpires with my spirit and mind over the next few weeks. A lot of change is starting to foment in my mind and heart about a lot of things I feel like doing with my time and energy.

One of which is the study of astrology. I've been feeling pangs of desire and interest to learn the intricacies of analyzing astrological birth charts over the past year and on a few occasions, I began to read bits and pieces of information that shone light into understanding my own birth chart. But I've not found a good class or book to study and learn from. There is a lot of information online where people can learn astrology for free, but there's even a little bit too much info there. It's confusing sifting thru it all. So I found a pretty good basic book at the library that I'm reading now. It goes over all of the basics of astrology and is a pretty good reference book. But in its own, it's not a "lesson book". What I've gathered from several writers about astrology, the way to learn this science is to begin analyzing your own birth chart. So that's what I'm going to focus on for now. Luckily, my best friend is a self-taught astrologer and I am able to turn to her for insights and clarifications. She is also my main inspiration for wanting to explore this path.

I've had some other inspirations recently too, about developing ideas about finding a way to use my writing abilities for a means of income. Namely by becoming a real blogger. I took advantage of a sale that Udemy was having on their writing courses and got two well-reviewed classes for just $9.99. One is about creating a money making blog, and the other is a creative writing class. I'll get thru these classes and see where they lead me. No promises about how hard I think I'll work on creating a blog. Maybe after taking this course, I'll decide that I don't really have what it takes. As of right now I really don't have any clear ideas about what topics I feel knowledgeable enough about to be able to blog extensively about. So we will see.

There is a possibility that if my studies of astrology go well that I'll consider offering chart analysis to friends as a means of practicing and further developing my skills. There are so many advanced astrologers out there in the world, and on the internet that I cannot imagine ever being as good as they are. But maybe somehow I'll find a peculiar niche that my own unique perspectives could serve as useful to the public.

I may also begin to take on a more energetic approach to studying the tarot, with the same kind of end goals in mind, of becoming able to do readings (and consequentially, healings) for the public. Again, I'm trying to find ways to learn these abilities thru self-education. My biggest challenge is developing the confidence to make myself brave enough to put myself out there to meet and serve the public. I just don't know if that's in the 'stars' for me. Haha, I should find out while I study my chart more!

As for what I wrote this month for Nanowrimo, the overall exercise was a success in getting me to feel like writing when prior to this month I had no intention of writing at all in November. As far as becoming more inspired to begin working on my novel again, those sorts of ideas have not arisen at all yet. I'm just going to have to wait and see how my overall mental health improves.

That is a missing part of this blog entry, talking about my meditation practice and the use of Reiki to heal my mental health. I'll come back soon and write more about that, ok?
