the end of the best month has come...

with just hours left in it's beating heart, September is coming to a close.  September is the fullest month of the year for me and this year was no exception. It was focused on celebrations of births and deaths in glorious splendor. For some reason right now I don't feel inspired like I usually do when I sit down to blog to go into any details about what events occurred, even though I really should. It was that spectacular of a month. Maybe this quick footnote right now will pull me back to write in fuller detail about the things that occurred before their impact fade from my memory. And maybe I'll even go beyond my normal blogging techniques and include some photos of the people and places that were seen.

Why I really opened up this page to scribble thoughts upon tonight was to put some energy into the idea of reopening my "novel" and perhaps going back to work on it. When I tried to work on it last year, even though I made some truly grand progress in considering editing and rewriting it and got to work together with some magnificent up and coming writers, as well as the most inspiring living writer that I know, I was overwhelmed by self-criticism and self-doubt, as well as the drama of taking care of my mom in her last days. I again had to push the opus to the side. This afternoon I watched a show on PBS about great novelists and the personal struggles that many of them suffered in getting their masterpieces completed so that they could be published for the world to read, and I identified with that struggle mightily. When I think of the story I have crafted I do believe that it is a masterful piece of work that no other mind than mine could have created. I do not believe that it was by chance or for naught the years I spent imagining and crafting those words. The story deserves to be completed properly and delivered.

Perhaps if I start to "reiki the text" it'll start to draw energy to itself, and myself to begin to help me find the energy and bravery I need to begin to open up my notes and go back to work on it. The gloom of Autumn has begun, my favorite season of the entire year and I feel like a goblin squealing with delight on Devil's Night at the hope of many creative adventures ahead.

On the note of desiring for more creative adventures I too wish to find some models to photograph. With the deepening interest I've developed in researching the supernatural this past year, my desire to create artistic photographic images of seemingly spectral scenes has grown. It's just a matter of finding subjects interested in modeling for me. It's an odd project and there aren't that many weird people around that I know.

I'm glad it was a good month for you and that you're feeling some energy coming back to the writing process. Hey, I'm weird enough to volunteer to model, but it would involve some kind of astral travel, I'm afraid :)
