dreams of the apocalypse and vampire grave robbers...
I don't too often come here to record my dreams, not anymore at least. I started taking Seroquel again about a month or so ago and since then I've been having dreams that I can remember. The last two nights though my dreams have been stranger than usual.
The first dream had me following along with two guys who were driving down San Ramon Valley Blvd to a destination about half way between Norris Canyon Road and Bollinger Canyon Road. That was where I identified the location to be in my mind, but there is no such building like I saw in my dream at that real life location. I don't remember exactly what it looked like now either, it's too long since I had the dream. But they were going there to kill someone. They were worried about time - that if they didn't get there in time that they'd be too late, for a bigger disaster to develop and occur. They were tense and might have been arguing. Anyway, they got to the building, got out of the car and found the people that needed killing and took care of them - shot them, perhaps. I think they also burned down the building. The sense of dread that was there was reminiscent of it being about the zombie apocalypse. I remember waking up from the dream thinking that I had awoken from watching an episode of The Walking Dead. After they took care of the first killings, they got back in the car and drove back up here to where I really live. The streets took the same curves and turns as they do in my real town - but when they got to the section of SRVB that turns up Bollinger Canyon Rd another layer of reality seemed to come into place - I saw a sort of translucent framework of a large building that felt like it came from Los Angeles either rise up, or descend into the scenery. It didn't seem to play any other role than to complicate the scenario. It did, in my mind, take me the most into the idea that there was some connection to the TV show, Fear The Walking Dead. I could almost see the faces of one of its characters looking out a window at me. The car continued to walk drive back up to my house. This was one of those dreams where the feeling of dread and fear were so palpable that the details that I witnessed did not need to be as realistically dramatic in appearance as what I was feeling. I felt like the world was getting darker, that things were only going to get worse, and that somehow, the world as I knew it was going to end. The last part of detail about this dream was that I was not inside a body in this dream. I was just floating consciousness.
The dream the next night was more distinguishable visually. I knew the kind of place I was in but it did not match any real world locations I know, not in visual assessment, or in feeling. It was night and I was in a cemetery with the character Angel, from Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I was standing to the side of a grave he had dug open. He had created a huge trench next to the grave he was interested in, he was down in it and he was gesticulating his hands, performing a spell or something, then he clapped his hands together and a perfectly round hole opened up at the foot of the grave to the side. I was standing up on the ground keeping watch. He was not pleased with what he saw, or didn't see. Then I looked around and saw two other people standing not far away. It was Spike and Drusilla, also from BTVS. They were just hanging around casually. I don't know if they cared about what Angel was doing or not. They were very interested in the grave monuments they were standing near. Drusilla pulled the grave marker up off the ground and held it up to look at. It was see thru letters written in a fashion similar to a statue in Danville (near the library) that has a poem written out by Eugene O'Neill. I wonder if it actually was transposed there by my psyche, and that the grave was meant to be O'Neill's. She was delighted to have it and I could see that she was picturing it being up on a wall in her home. Spike also picked up a grave marker but it was granite and heavy. They walked to the back of the van and put them inside. I got in the front then and started to drive us out. I told them that I was worried that the guard at the gate was not going to let us leave with stolen property. Drusilla said not to worry, and she cast a spell on the guard so he could not see what we had in the back. That was pretty much the end of the dream. It didn't feel as negatively full of peril like the first dream did, but it was one of the weirdest dreams I've ever had. I never have dreams of people I recognize, let alone beloved TV characters like this.
