okcupid, love map...
ok, this is really pretty interesting/funny/odd and i'm grinning pretty ridiculously after giving it a cursory glance. oh, and did i tell you? i joined a dating site. a pretty neat one at that, called OKCUPID. it just has a non-threatening feel about it, and it's free. i looked at joining a dating site many years ago, but didn't. and i don't know what it is now that has changed other than i feel more confident about myself. i don't think i'm looking for a miracle to happen. i'm not desperate. it just kinda seems like the right thing to do. and i've been reading some interesting profiles. there are some interesting women out there that i could see at least having coffee with. i'm sort of attracted to 30-somethings, but they are all very career focused and too athletic for me. the 40-somethings are actually a better fit. many are single with grown children, but seem in need of some excitement. the really interesting ones, which sort of surprises me are the 50-somethings. kids are gone, they know what they like/love to do and have time to do it. most of the women's profiles i've been reading (and liking) are SF or Oakland ladies. a couple from Walnut Creek/Pleasant Hill. and even a couple from San Ramon. The Oakland ladies are the one's that appeal to me the most.
ANYWAY, okcupid generates all kinds of graphs and comparison charts based on the information you enter in your profile (key word interests) and from quizzes that you can take. Somehow the computer generates guesses at who is compatible with you and makes suggestions. Tonight it sent me this very cool "love map", showing what parts of the country/world has the type of women I'd be most compatible with.
First off, South Korea ranks #1 in the world? THAT, I do not get, or agree with. Don't particularly feel an attraction to Asian women of any nationality. But you never know..., right? Iceland and Denmark??? Well, hell yeah! Not sure why the Ukraine ranks so lowly with me either.
Best states? Connecticut... hmmmm, maybe, but why is Vermont one of my worse when it is so nearby? Maryland I'd really go for. Baltimore has always been on my dream list to visit. And I agree about the desert states. No thanks. Virginia would be nice, but I ain't going nowhere near New Jersey or Idaho.
Thoughts?
